Route cleaning and Trail Building
Over the winter months routes on the dark side will be scheduled for maitenance. Trails will also be finished if you wish to help out please contact: Greg Sorensen
Regions - Vancouver Island - North - Nanaimo River "The Dark Side"
The Dark Side, on the south side of the Nanaimo River, is now open, and features 67 routes. It is a small sandstone crag, with lots of pockets and edges. Three bridges were built, as well as an access trail. The area is next to a gravel pit, and under a hydro line, and parking is shared with swimmers and fishermen, so access doesn't seem likely to become an issue. There are plans for campsites, and hopes of building a toilet.
